1x8 Please Do Talk About Me When I’m Gone: A sends Spencer a text mention Tom Sawyer, referring to the character from the novels. Ezra is an English teacher and has written poems previously, he would have a lot of knowledge of characters and novels.

1x9 The Perfect Storm: Emily receives an A message mention ‘Great Expectations’, pointing her to the Charles Dickens novel. Again, Ezra has a lot of knowledge with novels being an English teacher.

2x1 It’s Alive: When Aria is at Ezra’s apartment and she is asking him about his past, he tells her to ‘ask me anything’. Later on in the episode, the girls are in the greenhouse talking to A who is pretending to be Ian via text. A then tells the girls to ‘ask me anything’, the exact same wording Ezra had used.

2x3 My Name Is Trouble: Ezra tells Aria “you can run but you can’t hide”, referring to Jenna being in Aria’s pottery class. Maybe he meant it as something more than just them being in the same class, after all, A knows it was Alison and co. who blinded Jenna.

2x5 The Devil You Know: In Ian’s suicide note made up of A texts, he’d wrote ‘I can’t hide’, scribbled out hide and replaced it with ‘run’.

1x12 Salt Meets Wound: Maybe this is a clue from the producers; Aria believes it was A (who the girls thought was Noel at the time) who wrote ‘I see you’ on Ezra’s car but didn’t want to tell him about the whole A situation. As Aria says “I know who wrote that message on your car”, then the camera shot going straight back to Ezra, who had a very blank look on his face. Aria then says it was Noel Kahn, and once again the camera shot is back on a very blank-faced Ezra, maybe he thought she was going to tell him about A. The blackboard with writing on behind Ezra has hinted him as A many times, but this time it directly states he is A; notice the highlight parts in the images. Also notice how all the A’s written on the board are much bigger than the rest of the word, all the letters are in block capitals anyway but each A is slightly bigger than the other letters.
